Abstract

The purpose of the present investigation is to ascertain the frequency of consanguinity and inbreeding among Sunni Syed Muslims of Patna urban agglomeration. Various categories of consanguinity have been observed during the random personal of middle class couples. Poor economy, inheritance, childhood betrothals are some of the reasons leading to the high frequency of consanguinity and coeficient of inbreeding in the present populations.
