Abstract

This paper presents unique features in the leaves of Ophioglossum. These are: (1) Hydathode like tissue which by tearing results, in formation of canals, (2) Frequent occurrence of Twin stomata and (3) presence of intracellular Anabaena in some cells near canals. We believe these features to be adaptive responses of this natural hybrid, O. eliminatum.
