Abstract

Aim: We present in this paper fifteen cases of pyogenic granuloma (PG) that had undergone surgical excision over periods ranging from four months to ten years back but have now reported with recurrence.

Design: Case report.

Presentation of Case: Each of the patients underwent pre-surgical routine blood tests and intraoral periapical radiographs to note the presence of bone loss or any pathology if any. After removal of the local irritants, complete surgical excision of the lesions was done by scalpel with extraction of hopeless teeth wherever necessary.

Results: The patients in this study showed no signs of recurrence till their twelve months of follow up.

Conclusion: Although PG is a non-specific growth in the oral cavity, proper diagnosis, prevention, management and treatment of the lesion are very important.
